A standardized data format that encodes the orbital elements of an Earth-orbiting object as two 69-character text lines. Originally developed by the US Space Surveillance Network. Refreshed by CelesTrak and Space-Track.org from radar and optical tracking observations. Used by satellite-tracking software including LaunchDetect to predict object positions.
In LaunchDetect
A TLE includes the inclination, right ascension of ascending node, eccentricity, argument of perigee, mean anomaly, mean motion, and epoch. LaunchDetect's satellite tracker refreshes TLE data continuously to maintain accurate orbital predictions.
